3pt Series: Stress Reduction & Calming Techniques with Siobhan Kekoa (Class Two)

Class Two of Three! On Tuesday evenings in June, Seattle Public Library’s Greenwood Branch will offer Stress Reduction & Calming Techniques for Adults with Siobhan Kekoa, a 3-part wellness series taught through the lens of an Afro-Indigenous Medicine Practitioner.

Throughout the series, we will explore wellness and healing through Traditional Medicine, therapeutic approaches, somatic practices, music, and reflective writing. Each class is 1.5 hours in length.

Class One: Introduction to Stress, Anxiety, Mindfulness, & Accessible Coping Strategies (i.e. science & practicum of mindfulness, somatic body-mind connection, Reiki, grounding practices, etc.) 

Class Two: Finding Your Stress Reduction Anchor (via Somatic Body-Mind Connection, Movement, Art, Journaling, Herbal Remedies, "touching grass," etc.)

Class Three: Nourishing Sound Bath, Practicum, & Closing 

This trauma-informed series will provide both practical stress education and calming techniques to help you feel more present and safely grounded in your body, mind, and daily life.


Location: Seattle Public Library - Greenwood Branch

Series Duration: 3 Weeks

Dates: Tuesdays June 16, June 23, and June 30, 2026

Time: 4:00pm - 5:30pm

Intended Audience: Adults (older teens welcome; no cell phones excluding emergencies)

Max Attendance: 40

Educator: Siobhan Kekoa is a professional educator and artist with over 20 years of multi-cultural and intersectional experience; a PTSD and Mental Health professional and mentor for individuals of all ages and generations; disabled combat veteran, DV survivor, and full-time solo mother.
