Watercolor ~ Mixed Media
Watercolor freely draws out the shades and shapes of my wandering thoughts, always interconnected.
They speak of uncertain waters, clay earth drenched in downpour beneath storm pressure, shadow and light shifting into balance. Favorite memories, fragments of days spent peering out into the sea and ocean; childhood recollections from the mountains of New Mexico of carefully measured interludes from lightning strike to thundering bellow; retrieval of Sacred Medicine through Fire Ceremony in the Andes of Ecuador and Journey through its Amazon.
This series was created during and surrounding my time in Ecuador, where I was traditionally trained and initiated in part of my Medicine Lineage. The works are very special to me, and reflect both my given and ancestral heritage.
