On the first Saturday in June, Seattle Public Library’s Douglas-Truth Branch will offer Introduction to Mindfulness & Calming Techniques for Stress & Anxiety for Adults with Siobhan Kekoa, a one-hour wellness class taught through the lens of an Afro-Indigenous Medicine Practitioner.
Through this class, individuals can learn:
1) fundamental stress and wellness education,
2) how to feel, honor, and move through stress and anxiety without dismissing it, and
3) practical calming and grounding techniques to help you feel more present and safely grounded in your body, mind, and daily life
The goal is to help you feel safe in your internal and external spaces, especially if your life has been filled with uncertainty, instability, or trauma.
(Wear comfy clothing and bring a journal if you’d like! Handouts will be provided.)
