This summer, Seattle Public Library’s Broadview Branch will offer Introduction to Mindfulness & Calming Techniques for Stress & Anxiety for Teens and Adults with Siobhan Kekoa, a one-hour wellness class taught through the lens of an Afro-Indigenous Medicine Practitioner.
The very real stress that teens and young adults experience is often overlooked or dismissed for many reasons. This trauma-informed class is designed to honor and acknowledge this!
Through this class, individuals can learn:
1) what stress feels like in their body and mind, and
2) different ways to calm their nervous systems and feel more grounded
The goal is to help you feel safe in your internal and external spaces, especially if your life has been filled with uncertainty, instability, or trauma.
(Wear comfy clothing and bring a journal if you’d like! Handouts will be provided.)
