On the final Monday in June, a Seattle Public Library Branch will offer Mindfulness & Calming Techniques for Stress & Anxiety for Teens and Young Adults with Siobhan Kekoa, a one-hour wellness class taught through the lens of a QBIPOC Afro-Indigenous Medicine Practitioner.
This trauma-informed, culturally tailored class is specifically designed for intersectionally diverse teens and young adults navigating the culmination of Pride Month and ongoing challenges to their existence, sense of identity, and belonging. Through this 90-minute co-creative class, we will safely explore:
1) fundamental stress and wellness education,
2) how to honor and move through anxiety without dismissing it, and
3) practical calming and grounding techniques to help you feel more present and safely grounded in your body, mind, and daily life
