This summer, Seattle Public Library’s Colombia Branch will offer Indigenous Storytelling & Beaded Bracelet Making with Siobhan Kekoa, a 1.5 hour workshop designed to connect teens to Indigenous stories and practices.
This workshop shares both preserved Indigenous wisdom and offers nourishment through tangible forms of physical creativity and culture preservation.
During the workshop, attendees will be guided through making a small beaded bracelet or leather bag. Storytelling will include excerpts from You Were Made For This, Celebrated Indigenous Voices Speak to Young People (edited by Stephanie Sinclair and Sara Sinclair).
All required materials will be provided for up to 20 students, and may include leather cord, hide, and glass or pony beads.
We dearly look forward to seeing you!
